Review: Cards Against Humanity, part 2

One of my first articles on the Proud Mammal Chronicle was about my experiences with and opinions on the game Cards Against Humanity henceforth referred to as CAH (Here’s a link to that review – ). I took the stance that CAH isn’t really a game, and I stand by that assessment because there is no goal besides either making people laugh or making them uncomfortable. I also stated that it takes too long to play and isn’t fun when nothing is happening, which is also true and especially so in large groups of people (and sometimes it’s not fun at all). I just feel like I may have been a bit unfair to the people who made the game who really did a great job from a creative standpoint and I feel I must rectify any misgivings that my last review may have set.

There’s no way 8 people can put in equal work on a game this scale. Who wants to place bets on which guy contributed the least?

State of the Union

Listen up Mammals.

As I’m sure the world has noticed; I’ve been missing from the hallowed halls of the Chronicle for about a month now. Despite my promise so long ago of a new article every week, a promise that I’m having trouble keeping up with now. I’ve got two excuses 1. That you will like, and 2. that you will at best feel ambivalent about.

1. We’re getting a Kickstarter ready for ACHTUNG! That’s right. You heard it here first folks. We’re pumping up the volume on this one, Doubling the number of cards (Maybe even tripling if things go well enough), giving it a beautiful real box, and finally the -piece-de-resistance- The cards are getting an overhaul so you don’t need those pesky markers to play the game anymore! All in all we’re making a beautiful thing even more beautifuller. And we hope the world sees it the same way we do and helps make it a reality.

2. My second excuse for not being around. I’m starting a new job in June and there’s a lot of research and classes I’m taking to get ready for it. Sure it doesn’t take up all of my time, but it’s making the Chronicle my lowest priority. Sorry guys. I’ll do better starting now. Just probably not every week. Lets say Bi-Weekly now and see if i can stick to that shit. My searing wit is probably best served up once every two weeks regardless.

Things are looking up on every front. I’ll see you back here in a week or two when things will really pick up steam.

Opinion: Jurassic World’s major fault

There have been a lot of really cool movie trailers coming out recently. To name a few: The awesome new Star Wars trailer with Chewbacca, the Antman trailer with the hilarious train moment, and the Jurassic World trailer that has some people literally shitting their pants with glee. I liked all of them… but I think Jurassic World missed something obvious.

They should have put feathers on their new super dino.

“Owch, right in the legacy.”

Game Review: Hot Rod Creeps

The roar of the engines is deafening as the hot rods careen past the stands. The Demon seems to be catching up with the Wizard, burning off the last of its fuel in a desperate attempt to cinch the victory for their team. He makes the turn, but just ahead is the ring of fire, a deadly jump that only the most skilled drivers can make. The Wizard shoots out into the open air and it’s only a split second before the Demon is streaking up the ramp too. Praying as he nears the edge, yes he knows that this is ironic, the Demon sees that his tank is empty and lets fate decide. He flips out and… success! Into the final turn, and they’re neck and neck, it’s anybodies race. But out of nowhere, they couldn’t have seen it coming, the anthropomorphic food combos in from that wicked final turn, and right into the winners circle.

That pulse pounding scenario you just read? Just one of the many races you can expect to get out of your copy of Hot Rod Creeps.
